Former US President Donald Trump, who was blocked by Twitter, Facebook and other social media after the January 6 attack on the Capitol, plans to launch his platform in two to three months, his senior adviser told Fox News.
Jason Miller, a spokesman for Trump’s 2020 election campaign, said Trump would re-enter the social media space with a new, proprietary platform that would “completely redefine the game.”
Twitter said earlier this month that it would seek public opinion on when and how it should block world leaders, saying it was reviewing the policy and considering whether the same rules should be applied to leaders as to other users.
Twitter, Facebook and other social media have been subjected to critical scrutiny of the way they treat the profiles of politicians and government officials after Trump was blocked for inciting violence.
