Former President Donald Trump met with Republican House of Representatives leader Kevin McCarthy this Thursday and agreed to help Republicans win back the majority in the House, said Trump’s political action committee, Save America .
“President Trump has agreed to work with leader McCarthy to help the Republican Party become a majority in the House,” said Save America in a statement released by the American press. The statement said the meeting took place at the Mar-a-Lago resort, an asset held by Trump in Florida.
It was a “very good and cordial” meeting, said the statement, which thus seems to clarify that Trump is not planning to leave politics. In any case, the fact that he opted for a meeting with a Republican of the lower house and not the Senate may indicate that Trump is taking the impeachment under him seriously. In other words, the ‘implicated’ has to keep his distance from the administrative body that has the case in hand.
