Donald Trump has rejected a proposal by Kamala Harris to hold a second debate in October, saying it was “too late” because the election had already begun with mail-in voting in some states.
During a rally in North Carolina, the former president said that organizing another debate would not be feasible. Harris, after having had a first debate on September 10, challenged him again to a meeting on October 23 on CNN.
Trump, while acknowledging that he would like to debate for the “entertainment value,” declined the invitation and criticized the impartiality of the moderators of the first debate on ABC. Meanwhile, some states have already begun early voting, and the electoral contest remains close in several of the seven key states. Trump also emphasized his anti-immigrant rhetoric during his speech, promising that under his administration, the U.S. would reach Mars before the end of his term.
