US President Donald Trump released a video, recorded at the hospital, in which he says he is starting to feel better: “I think I’ll be back soon.”
In the four-minute video, which he posted on his Twitter account, Trump says he “didn’t feel very well” when he was admitted to Walter Reed Military Hospital on Friday after a positive coronavirus test.
“I feel so much better now, we are working hard for me to fully recover. I think I will be back soon and I can’t wait to finish the campaign the way I started it,” he added.
In the communication, he thanked the medical staff who are treating him and the world leaders and American citizens who sent votes for improvement, saying he was fighting for the millions of people who have had the virus worldwide.
“We are going to beat this coronavirus or whatever you want to call it,” said the president in the video, which is undated.
The American head of state also said he could not be locked in the White House. “I couldn’t leave, I couldn’t even go to the Oval Office,” said the president, considering that he had to “face the problem”.
He also defended that the experimental therapies he is receiving are a “miracle that comes from God”.
According to Trump, First Lady Melania Trump is also “handling the issue very well” because she is younger. “A little younger,” added Trump, who is 24 years older than the woman.
On Friday Donald Trump, 74, announced on his personal page on the social network Twitter that, like the first lady, Melania, had tested positive for coronavirus and would be quarantined.
Hours later, he was admitted as a precautionary measure to the Walter Reed Military Hospital.
The United States is the country with the most deaths due to covid-19 (208,731) and also with the most confirmed cases of infection (more than 7.3 million).
