Trump Receives Remdesivir Treatment and Does Not Need Supplemental Oxygen, According to White House | Univision News Elections in the US 2020

Due to President Donald Trump’s positive coronavirus test, his campaign has suspended a massive rally that was scheduled for this Saturday outside Green Bay, Wisconsin, a state where infection rates have skyrocketed.

Until Thursday afternoon, the Trump campaign was making adjustments for the demonstrations in Janesville and Green Bay, although the White House itself had designated the latter as a “red zone” for covid-19.

On Friday, campaign manager Bill Stepien, who also tested positive for covid-19, said in a statement that all previously planned campaign activities by Trump were being carried over to online events or temporarily postponed.

The rally’s cancellation was a relief to local officials and healthcare providers, who had feared the activity would further spread the already devastating virus in the state. According to the organizers, it was expected to gather around 5,000 Trump supporters, who generally do not wear masks or keep their distance.

Wisconsin broke the 3,000 new case threshold for the first time on Thursday, while recording nearly 700 hospitalizations and 21 deaths. Nearly 3,000 more cases were added Friday, with positive test rates above 20% statewide.
