Former United States President Donald Trump, current Republican candidate for this November’s presidential elections, stated that, if elected, he will carry out the largest deportation operation in the history of the country.
During an interview with the magazine Timethe businessman emphasized the need to address what he considers “an unsustainable migration crisis for the country,” through public forces.
In that sense, he stated that it is necessary to use the police and the Army and that he does not rule out the creation of concentration camps for immigrants.
“We have no choice,” declared Trump, who has maintained racist and anti-immigrant allegations since the beginning of his political life.
“Probably 15 million and maybe even 20 million by the time Biden comes out. 20 million people, many of them from jails, many of them from prisons, many of them from mental institutions,” she noted.
The business magnate has criticized the entry of foreigners into the United States throughout the Biden administration, especially due to the facilities that the Democratic government has established for legal migration, especially from countries in conflict such as Cuba and Venezuela.
In that sense, Trump stated that these needy countries in Central and South America, like Venezuela, are becoming “much safer,” suggesting that criminals have emigrated and are now in the United States.
In this regard, he pointed out that the country already has a new category of crime, called “migrant crime,” which distinguishes crimes perpetrated by people from other countries.
Trump pointed out that to mitigate this migrant crime wave in the country, it was necessary to involve the local police, and proceed with the deportation of all criminals who come from other countries. He also stressed the use of all security forces, including the National Guard and the Army.
The Republican candidate also addressed the issue of immigration detention camps, and stated that, although he does not rule out the possibility of building new ones, he hopes it will not be necessary due to the intention to transfer immigrants out of the country.
As he explained, the operation will be based on the one carried out in the 1950s by Dwight Eisenhower, who carried out a mass deportation of people.
“He was doing it for a long time. She became very skilled at it. He took them to the other side of the border. And they returned to the country in a matter of days,” she recalled.
During the campaign for his first candidacy, in 2016, where he was elected president of the United States, Trump also raised an anti-immigrant discourse, which to date remains the center of his political discourse.
