The situation in eastern Ukraine is becoming increasingly tense, and President Joe Biden says they are now seeing the start of a Russian invasion of the country. At the same time as the Democrat declares strong sanctions against Moscow in an attempt to choke the Russian economy, the American president is also severely beaten by his predecessor.
Donald Trump participated in the conservative radio program on Tuesday Clay and Buckwhere the situation in Ukraine was inevitably among the topics.
The radio hosts asked Trump what had gone wrong in Ukraine, and if there was anything Joe Biden could have done differently. Trump is in no doubt:
– What went wrong was a rigged election and a candidate who should not have been there, a man who has no idea what he is doing, Trump says.
While the criticism of Biden does not come as a surprise to many, Trump’s tribute to another president is far more sensational. On Monday, Vladimir Putin declared the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk independent, in what was seen as a violent escalation of the conflict. Donald Trump, on the other hand, believes Putin’s decision was a chess move worthy of Garri Kasparov:
– I walked past the TV yesterday and said: “This is brilliant!”. Putin declares much of Ukraine independent. Oh, that’s amazing, Trump said in the interview.
Believes the United States should learn from Putin
Trump believes Putin’s decision, which has been condemned across the international community, is something the United States could learn from.
Now Putin says: “The territories are independent”, a large part of Ukraine. It made me say, “How smart is that?” And Putin will now enter with peacekeeping forces. The strongest peacekeeping forces. We could need some of that at the border with Mexico, they have the strongest peacekeeping forces I have ever seen, Trump adds.
