WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – Donald’s announcement Trump has been infected Covid-19, push some stigma of US citizens, with some judging it to be evidence that the 45th president is not taking it seriously corona virus.
Then, some other residents suspected it was tricks his political hoax for the 2020 elections.
In the Democrats, who according to an AFP report on Saturday (3/10/2020) have lost nearly 24,000 people to Covid-19, many argued on Friday that they were not surprised by the news that Trump broke Friday night on Twitter.
“He’s still human. I wish him all the best,” said Christian Persaud, 19, who lives in Trump’s home region of Queens, which was hit by a severe illness in the spring.
“Hopefully it sends a message that people understand that the corona virus is very severe and masks are urgently needed,” said Persaud.
“He didn’t think the virus was really serious,” said 24-year-old Alex Flores, another resident who works for a private company that cleans trash bins on Fifth Avenue, near Trump Tower.

“You have to wear a mask, this virus is something you can’t play with,” said Flores.
In a city where wearing masks has become routine for most people, some see it as one more sign that the 74-year-old president is part of the population most at risk of contracting the coronavirus.
Moreover, it shows that the US needs to have a new term with the change of president from Trump to Joe Biden, whose test results were mentioned on Friday, negative.
“He’s an idiot. Wear a mask, wash your hands, it’s that simple (can be done),” said Mark, who works in the financial sector.
“Let’s hope for moderation and independence to say, ‘OK, now he’s a complete idiot.’ Hopefully they (the people) move (choose) to Biden, “he added.

The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, has taken a more conciliatory stance with the president with whom he has clashed several times in public.
“My thoughts are on President Trump and the First Lady and I wish them a complete and speedy recovery. This virus is vicious and easy to spread. Wear a mask. Let’s all take care of each other,” Cuomo said on Twitter.
New York is also home to several Trump supporters, although they are few and far between, and usually reluctant to reveal their full names.
“I think so ( Trump positif Covid-19) a hoax from the Democrats, “said Natasha, 56, who works in a shop near Trump Tower and has dual Russian-US citizenship.
“They did this (hoax) many times, they have tried many things to fight it,” continued Natasha.
“You can’t believe what’s going on in the media,” he said, echoing a line often used by President Trump.

Campaign ploy
Among Democrats, some even suspect that all of Trump’s statements being infected with Covid-19 are the tactics of the presidential re-election campaign.
“This could be a hoax” on Trump’s part, said Rhonda Marin, 60.
“We will find out if he has anything he is hiding,” said Marin.
He said that the situation was “very upside down. I don’t know what else to think … It’s all troublesome. It’s a bad situation.”
“Our phones started exploding last night,” said Susan Deutsch, 47, a finance worker originally from California.
Deutsch said there was “a lot of suspicion whether this was some kind of ruse on his part to, simply, disrupt the process, or create sympathy”, after what he called his underperformance in Tuesday’s debate against Biden.

Still, Deutsch said he hoped the president would recover.
“The worst case scenario is that he got very sick and died from it, and I don’t wish that from anyone,” he said.
Deutsch doubts the news will change anyone’s voice at this stage. “Everyone is so inoculated” to be shocked and angry, he said.
Susan Barder, an independent who is closer to the Republican Party on abortion issues, wants the president to recover as quickly as possible.
He also wanted the news to be an opportunity for everyone to take a deep breath and reflect on the situation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“There are so many crazy things going on. What we need is calm,” he said.
