Trump or Biden? In New York, in the long lines of early voting

AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL 2020 – Called to the polls before Tuesday, November 3 to unclog the polling stations on polling day, New Yorkers did not need to be asked. Thus, since October 24, the sidewalks of the Big Apple have seen blooming, in joy and good humor, queues populated by a largely Democratic electorate and in a hurry to end Donald Trump’s presidency.

“The Election day”, the official day of the American presidential election, is tomorrow. November 3. But like other communities across the country, the city and state of New York have already been voting since October 24. This is the first time that voters are thus called upon to vote in advance, in order to unclog polling stations on D-Day. And New Yorkers, very largely Democrats, do not deprive themselves of it. Eager to express in the polls all the evil they think of Donald Trump, whom they prefer to forget that he was born in the Big Apple, they sometimes trample for hours in long queues to fulfill their civic duty, like New York Mayor Bill de Blasi. He waited more than three hours in Brooklyn. In the Bronx, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was luckier – she waited “only” two hours – but called the wait“Unacceptable” and equated it with « deletion of voters ” (« voter suppression »), process by which the right to vote of citizens is obstructed or canceled, voluntarily or not.
