WASHINGTON DC – Former Donald Trump president (2017-2020) said Thursday that he “most likely” will run for the 2024 presidential election.
At an election event in Sioux City, Iowa, Trump told supporters to “prepare” for a possible run for a second term.
“To make our country successful, secure and glorious, very, very, very likely I will do it again,” Trump said at a rally in support of Republican Senator Chuck Grassley.
Trump told attendees he had “far more votes in 2020” in the election he lost to President Joe Biden than he did in 2016 when he won the presidency.
This isn’t the first time Trump has talked about the possibility of running again in 2024, but it is the strongest indication. In other campaign events in the mid-term elections, he indicated that “maybe” he will run.
The Republican politician currently has several judicial investigations against him, including one for allegedly holding confidential documents at his Florida residence and another for fraud in New York.
In addition to this, Congress has issued a subpoena to call him to testify in an investigation into the assault on the Capitol and to deliver a series of documents. Trump has until this Friday to provide the information, as well as a deadline of 14 this month to declare in Washington.
