Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he was on a near-fatal helicopter flight with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, reports Reuters.
“I was in a helicopter with him,” Trump said at a news conference.
“We thought maybe this was the end. We were in a helicopter going to a certain place together, and there was an emergency landing. It wasn’t a nice landing and Willie was a little worried,” Trump explained.
According to Brown, the incident never happened. He is a longtime Democratic moderate who also served as Speaker of the California State Assembly. Decades ago, he and Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, were a couple.
Willie Brown denied ever saying anything disparaging about Harris to Trump.
Another black former California politician, Nate Holden, told Politico late Friday that he had a turbulent helicopter ride with Trump in New Jersey, possibly in 1990.
However, Trump maintains that Willie Brown was in the helicopter at the time of the incident.
“There are logs, maintenance protocols and witnesses,” Donald Trump emphasized.
