Trump: Follow-up agreement with China may not be signed until after election NOW

The second part of the trade agreement with China may not be signed until after the elections in the United States, says US President Donald Trump on Thursday.

“I think we can achieve a slightly better deal with that delay, perhaps a much better deal,” said the president during a speech at the White House.

Negotiations for the second phase of the agreement do start immediately after the signing of the first sub-agreement. That would happen on January 15, when a delegation from China visits Washington. Chinese Trade Minister Gao Feng reported that earlier on Thursday.

All in all, the completion of the total package of agreements would probably only take place after November 2020, provided that Trump adheres to its new ruling.

The message about a first partial agreement between the two world powers came at the end of 2019, after months of conflict and conversations that just didn’t seem to be going smoothly.
