Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, where Biden won, started one of the lawsuits filed by Trump’s campaign team to challenge the election results. The judge in the state appeared in a hearing to be skeptical of the arguments of Trump’s personal attorney Giuliani, who was back in court for the first time in decades.
“Actually, you are asking this court to invalidate 6.8 million votes, thus depriving every voter in Pennsylvania of the vote. Can you tell me how to justify such an outcome?” The judge told Giuliani.
Giuliani reiterated in court that there was systematic electoral fraud, but did not substantiate this with concrete evidence. The judge will rule later.
In addition, a case was filed with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. That court ruled that the electoral council in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, acted correctly by distancing observers of the Trump campaign from counting the votes.
Procrastination in Michigan
In Michigan, another state won by Biden, Republicans managed to temporarily block validation of the Wayne County result. They relied on irregularities in a number of postal votes.
Biden beat Trump well in Wayne County, where the city of Detroit is located. The Republicans were accused from all quarters of ignoring the voter’s desire after attempting to delay validation. The postponement was then dropped.
