Former US President Donald Trump, the front-runner for the Republican nomination in November’s presidential election, today called on Democratic President Joe Biden to undergo cognitive tests, asserting that he “excelled” in this test.
“He should pass a cognitive ability test,” the 77-year-old businessman wrote in his post, referring to the president, who is four years his senior. “Maybe this way we’ll see why he makes such horrible decisions,” he added.
Biden underwent his annual check-up on Wednesday and doctors deemed him “fit” to govern. According to the White House, his doctor did not deem it appropriate for him to undergo a cognitive ability test.
Biden’s response
The Democratic president responded to his opponent’s attacks on Platform X by posting a video of Trump sarcasm in recent speeches. “Donald, my boy, play the video again,” he wrote in the caption.
The fitness of the two candidates, the oldest duo ever to run for president, is being closely monitored. Every blunder, fall, momentary confusion of one, is immediately pointed out by the other.
Trump recounted in 2020 that he passed a cognitive ability test that included a memory test — a series of items that was mocked on social networking sites. “You are told to repeat the words: person, woman, man, camera, television. I said, in fact, it is: a person, a woman, a man, a camera, a television,” he said at the time.
