The former president Donald Trump (2016-2021) said on Wednesday that he is “less willing” to participate in another debate with the vice president Kamala Harris before the elections, after the first debate last night between the two candidates for the White House.
Harris’s campaign, for its part, already proposed a second debate last night.
“I’m less inclined to do so, because we had a great night. We won the debate.”Trump said today in a phone call with the program “Fox and Friends.”
Fox News hosts, Bret Baier y Martha MacCallumannounced Tuesday night that Fox News had sent letters to both campaigns proposing a rematch of sorts in October.
Trump also noted that the fact that it was Harris’s team that asked for another face-to-face indicated that he was the winner, since “when two people fight, it is the losing boxer who asks for a rematch.”
During Tuesday’s debate, Trump appeared angrier than when he faced President Joe Biden in late June.
Speaking on Fox today, the mogul also criticized ABC News moderators of yesterday’s debate, saying the journalists sided with Harris.
“ABC is the most dishonest news organization and that’s saying a lot because they’re all dishonest, but I think I did a great job.”the politician noted.
«Swift will pay a price»
Trump also downplayed the singer’s support Taylor Swift showed the vice president after the debate with a post on her social media in which she announced to millions of followers that she would vote for Harris in the November election.
“It was just a matter of time. I couldn’t support Biden… But he is a very progressive person,” said the former president, who said he was not a fan of the megastar.
“She seems to always support a Democrat, and she will probably pay a price in the market,” he added.
On her Instagram account, where she has 283 million followers, Swift posted alongside her message a photo of herself with her cat Benjamin and signed her post as “childless lady with cats,” a reference to Trump’s running mate, JD Vancewho criticized Harris and childless women by calling them that way.
