At a briefing on Sunday, doctors said Trump’s blood oxygen levels had fallen twice in recent days, once on Friday and once on Saturday, and that the US president was being treated with steroids, but gave a positive assessment of Trump’s recovery prospects.
“The president’s health continues to improve. As with any illness, there is often both an upturn and a downturn,” Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley, told reporters.
He said Trump was taken to Walter Reed’s military hospital on Friday because his illness had progressed rapidly and the level of oxygen in his blood had dropped alarmingly low, so Trump was given extra oxygen while he was still in the White House.
Another Trump doctor, Brian Garibaldi, allowed Trump to leave the hospital on Monday.
