Trump continues to yell he won, campaign team drops part of Pennsylvania lawsuit

“I WON THE ELECTIONS,” Trump wrote on Twitter this morning – midnight on the US East Coast. It echoed what he’d tweeted on Sunday, after initially appearing to have admitted for the first time that Democrat Joe Biden had won. That tweet was soon replaced by the announcement that Biden had only won in the eyes of the “fake news media”. “I will not give in,” he said. “This is a fraudulent election. We will win. ”

All those tweets were referred to by Twitter as “disputed statements”. Also striking: Trump spoke in the first person this morning, where the gJust yesterday it was said that ‘we’ would win and ‘we’ would not let the country be stolen by a “fraudulent election”.

Lawyers

Meanwhile his campaign team retraces its steps in the struggling state of Pennsylvania, where Trump is contesting the election results. His lawyers have according to The Washington Post filed a new version of their indictment, no longer stating that election officials there violated the rights of the Trump campaign by hindering their observers from overseeing vote counting. Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani say that more than 600,000 votes in the state should be invalidated as a result.

Trump’s lawsuit now focuses on allegations that Republicans were disadvantaged because some Democratic-leaning districts allowed voters to correct errors on their ballots. The districts have said this only affected a small number of votes.

Biden got nearly 70,000 more votes than Trump in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s attorneys have filed lawsuits in several states and the president is also threatening to take it to the Supreme Court. However, Biden has received a total of 5.5 million more votes and 306 of the 270 necessary electors. Trump would therefore have to win court cases in several states in order to remain president, while there is no indication that fraud was committed on a large scale.
