Trump Claims Winning the US Presidential Election, Will Protest to the Supreme Court

Jakarta

United States President Donald Trump claims he has won US presidential election 2020, although the final results are yet to be announced. Trump also said he would go to the Supreme Court to reject the vote count.

Trump without grounds claims fraud.

“This is a fraud against the American public. This is a shame for our country,” Trump claimed in a speech at the White House as reported AFP, Wednesday (11/4/2020).

“We did win this election,” he said, although the millions of votes had not yet been counted.

Trump also said that he had won in states that the Republic had not previously won.

Trump also cited temporary victories in states like North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin which he said Biden would not be able to catch up.

“Millions and millions of people voted for us tonight. And a very sad group of people are trying to disenfranchise that group of people. And we are not going to support it,” he said.

The Republican candidate, who according to preliminary results is in close competition with Democrat Joe Biden, said he will go to court and “we want all vote counting to stop”.

He appears to intend to stop counting ballots by post that are legally acceptable to state electoral boards after Tuesday’s election, provided they are delivered on time.
