Gabbard was deployed to Iraq as a soldier and served in Congress on behalf of the Democrats. She tried unsuccessfully to become that party’s presidential candidate in 2020. Gabbard left the Democratic Party two years later, which she said was run by warmongers.
In her new job, Gabbard will supervise the American intelligence services. She is also responsible for the intelligence briefings that Trump receives daily as president.
