Reported Reuters and Al ArabiyaOn Thursday (15/8/2024), a US source told Axios that Trump’s phone call on Wednesday (14/8) was intended to encourage Netanyahu to accept the deal. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
At the end of last month, Netanyahu visited the US and met with President Joe Biden, Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and Trump.

Egypt, the United States and Qatar have scheduled a new round of Gaza cease-fire talks on Thursday.
Biden outlined a three-phase cease-fire proposal in his speech on May 31. Washington and regional mediators have since tried to broker a Gaza ceasefire agreement for the hosts but have run into several obstacles.
Hamas said on Wednesday that it would not participate in a new round of Gaza ceasefire talks scheduled for Thursday in Qatar.
However, an official briefed on the talks said mediators were expected to consult with the Palestinian Authority afterwards.
