“While in some ways yesterday’s elections were somewhat disappointing, from my personal point of view it was a very big win – 219 wins and 16 losses in total – who ever did better? “Trump tweeted.
CNN referring to Trump’s adviser, he says “furious” and “everyone shouts”. The most surprising loss, he said, for Trump came in Pennsylvania, where Republican Mehmet Oz lost to Democrat John Fetterman.
According to initial estimates, the Democratic Party is losing its majority in the House of Representatives: the Republicans have already received 203 seats against 187 for the Democrats (the majority need 218 seats).
In the Senate, the parties are almost in balance: the Democrats have obtained 48 seats against 49 for the Republicans (51 seats are needed for the majority).
Control of the Senate now rests with the states of Nevada, Arizona and Georgia. For the smaller majority, Democrats or Republicans must win two.
In Georgia, after counting 99% of the votes, none of the candidates won an absolute majority, so the distribution of seats in the upper house of Congress will likely be determined by the second round of voting in December.
