Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – US President Donald Trump left the hospital in charge of it, Monday (5/10/2020), local time. Arriving at the White House, Trump removed his mask and issued a statement that he may be immune to corona.
“Now I’m better, maybe I’m immune, I don’t know,” Trump said as quoted by AFP, Tuesday (5/10/2020).
The doctor who treated Trump did not say whether Trump’s latest test result was negative or still positive. However, during his self-isolation and hospitalization, Trump is said to have taken several drugs.
Here are some of the drugs and treatments Trump had taken:
1. Regeneron
The first drug the presidency doctors used to treat Trump was Regeneron, REGN-COV2. It is part of an experimental Covid-19 drug known as a monoclonal antibody: an artificial copy of a human antibody to the virus that is being studied for use in patients with early disease.
The Regeneron cocktail, which contains antibodies made by the company and the second isolated from humans recovering from COVID-19, is designed so that both antibodies bind to the coronavirus spike protein, thus limiting the virus’s ability to escape.
2. Remdesivir
Remdesivir is a drug made by Gilead Sciences in the US called Veklury. In clinical trials that have been carried out this drug has succeeded in shortening the patient’s stay in the hospital. Initially this drug was an Ebola drug but was effective against MERS and SARS.
3. Dexamethasone
Dexamethasone was originally a joint inflammation drug but in clinical trials conducted by Oxford University researchers it has been effective against coronavirus. It can even reduce the death rate by up to a third of serious cases.
4. Multivitamins and Supplements
At the start of Trump’s announcement that he was positive for coronavirus and self-isolating in the White House, Presidential Doctor Sean Conley said Trump was also taking immune boosters, zinc and vitamin D, aspirin, and other generic drugs.
