Meanwhile, the first lady Melania Trump cancels what should have been her first appearance, after more than a year, at a meeting with her husband in Pennsylvania because she does not think she has fully recovered the conditions in convalescence from Covid. “The first lady continues to feel better every day but due to a persistent cough and for greater precaution she will not travel today,” said her chief of staff Stephanie Grisham.
In an interview with Fox, Donald Trump attacked Kristen Welker, moderator of Thursday’s upcoming TV duel with Joe Biden, as well as the decision of the presidential debates commission to turn off the microphones for some moments of the challenge and to exclude foreign policy from the arguments. “Keisten Welker is terrible, partisan, sided with the dem and Biden,” he said. “And excluding foreign policy is a much bigger change than silencing the microphone, the commission has lost credibility.” For now, the president has confirmed his participation.
