The case of Paolo Guerrero has not only damaged the image of Trujillo and the César Vallejo University Club (UCV), but the merchants of the city of eternal spring have also had impasses due to the indecision of the “Predator” to fulfill his contract with the Acuña team.
The people of Trujillo were waiting for the signing of the former captain of the national team and many were already planning to buy the shirt with the number 9 on the number to go cheer on the poet team. Many businessmen had already had the garments made, but Guerrero’s resistance to playing on the “poets” team has caused them financial losses. The discomfort has led them to want to declare him persona non grata.

“In reality, with everything he has done to us, we are disappointed. We are going to declare him persona non grata within the sports field (…) If one day he comes to Trujillo to play for any team, you cannot imagine the great rejection and the mistakes he will receive,” a merchant told TV Perú.
Today, Wednesday, February 21, it should be decided whether Paolo Guerrero terminates his contract with the UCV or if the forward arrives in Trujillo to join the team. His lawyer, Julio García, has indicated that the parties have agreed to keep their negotiations confidential.
