Trudi Denies Involvement in Chiara Ferragni Charity Scandal

Trudi, the company that produces toys and soft toys, declares itself «unrelated to any charitable activity or other initiative developed independently by Tbs Crew – Chiara Ferragni». Trudi also specifies that «the packaging and the doll itself have never reported any communication referring to charitable actions or anything else». In recent days it has emerged that, after the case for the designer Pandoro Balocco «Pink Christmas», the Milan Prosecutor’s Office accuses the influencer of aggravated fraud also for the charity with the Easter eggs (Dolci Preziosi) and with the Trudi doll that represents, assuming that the three operations were linked by the “same criminal plan”.

In practice, Trudi reports that she simply made the doll, but without ever having participated or declared to participate in any charitable initiative. The agreements had been made, a note specifies, by the previous management of the company, contacted in 2018 by the company Tbs Crew (Chiara Ferragni) exclusively for the development and production of the Chiara Ferragni doll. Even Giochi Preziosi, owner of Trudi since July 2019, “declares its non-involvement in any operation undertaken by the previous management of the Friulian brand contacted at the time by Tbs Crew”. Trudi “reserves the right to take legal action should a continuation of incorrect and misleading information be found to the detriment of the brand itself”.

The May 2019 initiative concerned a 34cm Trudi doll depicting Chiara Ferragni, whose selling price recently dropped from 34.99 to 24.99 euros. A Trudi-Limited Edition which at the time was presented like this: «Since many of you loved the Chiara Ferragni doll that we created for our wedding (with Fedez, ed.) we decided to create a limited edition of the Chiara Ferragni Mascot: It’s selling now on The Blonde Salad and all profits will go to Stomp Out Bullying, a non-profit organization to fight against cyberbullying, a topic very close to my heart.”

However, in an interview with Settimanale Dipiù (Cairo editore) and then with «Zona Bianca», the CEO and founder of Stomp Out Bullying Ross Ellis declared that the association has never received any contribution from Chiara Ferragni or her company , Tbs Crew. Which on the contrary, in a press release, declared that «the revenues deriving from the sales of this doll which took place via The Blonde Salad e-commerce, net of the sales commissions paid by Tbs to the external provider who managed the e-platform commerce, were donated to the Stomp Out Bullying association in July 2019.”
