Two Russians have played a joke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They pretended to be the climate activist Greta Thunberg on the phone. It wasn’t until the fake Greta started talking about South Park that Trudeau got the joke.

The famous / infamous duo ‘Vovan and Lexus’ in Russia have struck again. Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov have one video with sound recording from a phone call with Trudeau. Trudeau’s cabinet has already responded: “This is not the first time that a world leader has played a joke. The prime minister judged the call as’ false ‘and immediately cut off the call,’ according to the BBC.
Yet Trudeau first had a conversation with the fake Greta Thunberg. “You are adults, but you act like children,” he said. “That’s exactly the right perspective,” Trudeau responded. To which the jokers continued: “Leave NATO, drop weapons, pick flowers and smile at nature.” Trudeau was not fooled and said, “I also dream of a world where soldiers are not needed, but unfortunately that is not yet the case.”
It’s only when the fake Greta asks twice for contact details of Terrance and Phillip, “big stars in Canada,” Trudeau seems to get the joke. “Wait, weren’t they in South Park?” asks the prime minister. To which he quickly ends the call.
The Russian duo have also previously called the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, under false pretenses. Prince Harry, Elton John and Boris Johnson have also been fooled.
