The PS of the State Committee for National Security asks drivers and cargo carriers to treat this situation with understanding
Trucks have accumulated in front of the Torugart-avtodorozhny checkpoint. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security commented on the situation.
“The reason for the accumulation is the removal of anti-COVID restrictions from the Chinese side and, as a result, an increase in the traffic of vehicles heading to China,” the press service of the department said. “The number of visas issued to citizens of Kyrgyzstan engaged in cargo transportation has also been increased.”
The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security noted that although the personnel of the Torugart-avtodorozhny checkpoint works around the clock, the problem still remains.
“The traffic flow of motor vehicles is several times higher than the capacity of the checkpoint,” they noted. “Therefore, we ask drivers and carriers to treat this situation with understanding.”
