UNTEREISESHEIM – German police are investigating a man who says he filmed a lorry driver who was seriously injured after a crash on the A6 near Untereisesheim.
The seriously injured driver apparently missed the end of a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon and crashed a vehicle into another truck trailer, police said. He was trapped in his car and was seriously injured. After firefighters rescued him, he was taken to the hospital. The driver of the other truck was not injured.
According to the police, after the accident, a third truck driver put his vehicle in the emergency lane and walked across the road to the median. There it is said that he filmed the scene of the accident and the man who was seriously injured. Witnesses alerted the police, after which the suspected filmmaker was investigated. He was arrested.
“People who photograph or film injured people and vehicles involved in accidents can expect a prison sentence of up to two years or a fine in Germany,” the ADAC website says.
Five years ago, the filming of a slain truck driver disturbed a German police officer and brought in the videographer to take a closer look at the dead truck driver.
