A truck driver lost control of the car on Tuesday morning at AC De Graafweg, just past Opmeer, and ended up on the roadside. In addition, the man never noticed that this caused another motorist to get into serious trouble.

The truck was driving in the direction of Hoorn when it started to swing. When he landed on the shoulder, a large cloud of dust was released. As a result, the driver did not see the encountering car and wanted to go back on the road, forcing the motorist into the ditch.
At first it seemed as if the truck driver didn’t want to bother about the other victim. Two bystanders came to the aid of the motorist. One of them jumped into the water to help the driver. The motorist was unharmed.
It has now become clear that the truck driver never realized that another car was involved in the accident. Only when the man with his combination arrived at GP Groot on the terrain in Middenmeer, it became clear what else had happened.
“We are very sorry that the driver had to experience this”, said Jessica Groentjes of the GP Groot group. “We are happy that the man is unharmed and that the damage was limited to material damage.”
The truck driver had also suspected that his combination had hit something during the skid. After he got the cars under control, he stopped himself more than a hundred meters away. There was nothing wrong with the truck and trailer. “Because he didn’t notice anything abnormal, he then resumed his ride. Fortunately two bystanders noticed the car and came to the aid of the motorist. ”
The driver has already told the police his own version of the story. According to Groentjes, GP Groot is also investigating the circumstances and cause of the incident.
