A truck full of EVGA RTX 3000 series graphics cards has been stolen in California, USA. EVGA is warning its customers that the cards may be released.
In recent months, graphics card manufacturers such as Nvidia and AMD have been experiencing stock problems, especially due to the high demand from cryptocurrency miners.
Cryptocurrency mining, which has almost become a profession, accounts for a large part of video card sales.
Cryptocurrency miners are considered to be the biggest culprits for the shortage and high price increase in new graphics cards.
INCREASED CASES OF THEFT
In fact, the situation has reached such a critical level that the theft of video cards has increased recently.
EVGA Product Manager Jacob Freeman revealed that a truck full of GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards was stolen on its way to a California distribution center.
It is stated that the truck is filled with models from the RTX 3060 up to the RTX 3090, which cost between $329 and 1959 dollars.
EVGA, which maintains a list of stolen card models, says users should be careful and that stolen products will not be registered under warranty.
Last year, 40 RTX 3090 containers worth over $330,000 were stolen by people working at an MSI factory in China.
