Just after 4 o’clock on Friday night, the police in Oslo state that a serious work accident has occurred at the railway freight terminal at Alnabru.
A man in his 30s has been hit by a truck. The man is described as seriously injured. The accident has caused injuries to the person’s pelvis and legs.
The police state that the injuries are probably not life-threatening.
The police believe they have formed a clear picture of the course of events. The truck, which the police explain is a construction machine of large size, has run over the man.
– As it appears, the accident happened during work. The truck was about to drive into the construction area when the man was hit and then got one wheel over him, says operations manager in the police in Oslo, Tor Gulbransen, to TV 2.
The truck is described as large and is suitable for unloading large containers.
Do you suspect that something criminal may have happened?
– No, this is another accident. We have been in contact with the driver of the truck. He will be questioned on the spot, says Gulbransen to TV 2.
The operations manager states that a good deal of evidence has been secured on technical tracks. Among other things, surveillance video has been obtained from the site. In addition, the police conduct witness interviews.
The police can not say with certainty what type of work was carried out on site prior to the accident, but that it is usually carried out by unloading containers on site.
The police were notified of the incident at 03:22 on Friday night.
