Truck drivers: ‘Stop brake checking!’ | Car

Truck drivers are most annoyed by motorists who pass in front of the truck when they exit, according to the National Drivers Survey, which was held for the fourth time on the initiative of an HR service provider. Logistic Force. 824 Dutch professional drivers participated in the study.

Apparently truckers also cannot escape traffic aggression in the form of this so-called ‘brake checking’, in which a car suddenly applies the brakes in front of the truck, in this case to teach the trucker a lesson. No less than 77.3 percent of truck drivers indicate that he or she has had to deal with this phenomenon several times.

Brake checking is therefore in second place in the top 5 of traffic annoyances for Dutch truck drivers. In third place are fellow road users who are distracted by mobile telephones, in fourth place are motorists who drive slower than 80 kilometers per hour on the highway and the top 5 is completed by hindering fellow road users when merging or merging.
