The accident happened around 1:30 am. A road sweeper crossed a carriageway to clean the road surface, with behind it a Heijmans shock absorber with an arrow truck, intended to absorb any collisions. The lane was closed with a red cross at the time. A truck with a trailer then crashed into the Heijmans vehicle, after which the shock absorber ended up on the side.
