Truck crashes into madrasah while students are reciting the Koran, 3 people are killed, 8 others, the majority of children are injured.

KOMPAS.com – The truck crashed into a madrasa in Harendong Village, Arrowroot, West Java, Friday (2/4/2021).

The incident resulted in three deaths, namely the driver of a Mitsubishi truck with police number Z8229DW in the name of Suhanda (50), a resident of Sukawening District, Garut, and two students.

Apart from the death toll, the truck accident left eight people injured, mostly children.

Quoting Among, Head of Public Relations Sub Division of Garut Police Ipda, Muslih Hidayat explained, the incident occurred at 16.00 WIB.

The truck came from the direction of Kampung Nangoh towards Kampung Haredong on a straight downhill road.

The truck driving on the descent, he said, was suspected of having experienced braking problems and eventually crashed into the Nurul Barokah Foundation building which is located around the village road.

“While crossing the straight downhill road, it is suspected that the brakes failed and thus crashed into the Nurul Barokah Foundation,” he said.

The police from the Laka Unit then the Garut Police immediately carried out if the scene of the case, after evacuating all the victims in the accident.

The victim and those who were injured were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

The witness to the incident, Saeful Wahid (21) explained that the truck drove from the direction of Kampung Nangoh to Kampung Harendong with a downhill road condition.

“The truck emerged from Nangoh Village according to the road position, I saw the truck was indeed in a dead engine state,” he said as quoted from Antara. West Java Tribune.

He said that the madrasa was filled with students who recited the Koran every day.

“When the students were studying the Koran, the truck immediately hit the madrasa,” he said.

Saeful saw the students lying down and some were unconscious.

“Some of the students were unconscious, some were pinched,” he said.
