Truce Reports (1/20): Interview with the CEO of QRM, Arnaud Saint-André

Support the club League 2 and become a little better candidate for maintenance. QRM extension patient the path set by his coach, Olivier Echouafni at the beginning of the season. At half-time, the Normandy club are 13th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone, having finished well in Amiens (2-0). While the World Cup is in full swing, the general manager of the club, Arnaud Saint-Andréhas decided to draw up a progress report on MaLigue2.

Sport record:

« We are quite satisfied with the first 15 days. We had a more complicated start than the end. Until the international break in September, the results were insufficient (six points after the first nine days) and since then we have found a very positive dynamic even if we had rather complicated posters: six games, three wins, two draws and one defeat. these have been quite positive results. »

More than fifteen departures in the summer market and as many arrivals, not counting a change of coach: from this summer QRM shows a new face. The maneuver was dangerous but inevitable: “ We were in a staff at the end of the cycle following the rise of the national team in Ligue 2. We renewed in the off-season also with a new staff and a cohesion that is being established between all members of the club. It is obviously very good for the club. […] The winter transfer window will be an adjustment transfer window. If we have one or two starts, potentially we could be inclined to hire but for the moment we are very happy with the group. »

On club development: We are working hard to improve our training conditions. It is an important goal for the club. If we want to stay in Ligue 2, we know very well that we will have to improve our infrastructure. On the other hand, we are also working on the training center. We have significant breeding ground in the metropolis of Rouen. We want to keep our players performing pre-training at QRM. Like the field, QRM is also trying to grow in the stands. If the club has not yet “replaced” the historic FC Rouen (today in the national team 2), it is gradually winning affections, with in particular the birth in early November of a new ultra group called ” Young block » : « QRM is a young club. Ligue 2 allows you to attract the public and retain them. We are lucky to have a new group that was born and that allows to put even more atmosphere in the stadium. We are very satisfied and wish them a good time with us afterwards. »

The typical squad (4-1-4-1) by playing time:

Lemaître – A. Sissoko, T. Cissokho, Diedhiou, Pendant – Pierret – Bangré, Sangaré, Gbelle, Soumaré – Mafouta

On the bench : Thuram-Ulien (g), Sidibe, Bonnet, M. Camara, Ben Youssef, Houtondji, Boe-Kane

ML2 Prognosis:

The fight for retention is tight, no club has really won and the last four places lead to relegation in the national team: in accounting terms, Quevilly-Rouen is still far from out of danger despite an encouraging start to the season. However, Norman Sang & Or seem to have some edge over their rivals with a close-knit squad and a difficult-to-play side that has put a number of top-third teams in trouble. Overall, the club seems better equipped than in the 2022 season, when it often had to rely on the providential Duckens Nazon (left for CSKA Sofia). If no unforeseen events interrupt the season, such as the sudden departure of Bruno Irles for Troyes last January, the club has every chance of continuing in Ligue 2 in 2023-2024.
