(NYSE: TXT), announces that the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has granted Level D certification of a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS, Queensland Section). The FFS can be reconfigured to support the training of the RFDS Queensland Section’s entire fleet of Beechcraft King Air model B200 and B300 aircraft. It is the first simulator of its kind in Australia and is located in a new purpose-built training facility adjacent to the RFDS base in Bundaberg.

The Queensland Section of the RFDS has a major fleet of Beechcraft King Air aircraft, used to perform aerial medical rescues and provide health services to people in regional, rural and remote areas of Queensland. The new simulator will provide pilots and crew with world-class training to help them in their mission to provide the best care to the most remote corners of Queensland.
The King Air full flight simulator, equipped with Pro Line Fusion avionics from Collins Aerospace, incorporates TRU’s REALFeel control loading system, which manages to offer a highly realistic flight experience. The simulator’s full flight motion integrates TRU’s REALCue system, which features an electric motion base with 60-inch travel actuators. To create an immersive training environment, the visual system is equipped with high-definition projectors on a 200×40-degree screen. The four King Air versions available for the FFS use aircraft systems and aerodynamics software package designed and developed by TRU.
