Troyes gets a foothold in Ligue 1, Guingamp and Dunkirk take an option on maintenance, Chambly breathes

Troyes is heading straight for Ligue 1. By beating Châteauroux (2-1), already relegated to the National, the Trojans could find the French elite on Monday, if Clermont does not win.

The leader of Ligue 2 had a lot to do in this final sprint. The red lantern had indeed opened the scoring thanks to Mbone (21st). But Châteauroux, who has not won for twelve matches, has once again cracked. Troyes took the opportunity to return to the score on a penalty converted by Tardieu (51st) then regained the advantage thanks to Yoann Touzghar – his 15th goal this season. With this victory, Troyes should return to Ligue 1.

M’Changama hero of Guingamp

He had not found the net since the start of the season, Guingamp captain Youssouf M’Changama waited for the best moment. While his club is fighting for maintenance in Ligue 2, the Breton midfielder scored a double (8th and 34th) which allows his club to breathe a little in the race for maintenance. Guingamp took off thanks to Pierrot (62nd) to curb Amiens (3-0). Thirteenth after this easy victory, the Guingampais have their destiny in their hands to stay in Ligue 2.

Dunkirk takes a small step towards maintaining

A penalty stopped and a goal late in the game later, Dunkirk finally came out of the red zone. Authors of a very good start to the season, the Northerners have been struggling since the start of the second part of the season. In the fight for maintenance, all points are worth taking. So those cashed in with this victory against Sochaux (1-0) give new hope. However, the result could have been very different without the parade of Maraval on the Sochaux penalty (18th). Finally the expulsion of Ndour (68th) left space for Dunkirk and Bosca who then scored the only goal of the match (85th) and released the tension of the Marcel-Tribut stadium. If the Dunkirks come out of the relegation zone, they will have a lot to do in the last two days since they will face Troyes and Toulouse.

Caen-Auxerre, a draw that does not help anyone

Caen plays to save himself, Auxerre for the climb. But in this game from a distance, the two teams did not manage to decide (0-0). A goalless draw that does not suit anyone since Caen loses points on its rivals Guingamp, Dunkirk and Chambly who have all won tonight. Two points lost for the Normans who fell to 18th place, synonymous with dams. For their part, Auxerre and Jean-Marc Furlan hoped to win to hang up the lead car for the play-offs for accession to Ligue 1.

Chambly, the shadow of hope

In the midst of a black series – six games without a win – Le Havre fell once again (4-2), to the delight of Chambly who sees the light at the end of the season. 19th in the Championship and almost doomed, the Camblysiens could well benefit from a good momentum to maintain themselves or, at least, access the dams. However, Le Havre opened the scoring from the penalty spot thanks to Alexandre Bonnet (20th). But Bruno Luzi’s men came back and then regained the advantage through Petkovic (51st), Correa (62nd) and Camelo (68th). The magnificent goal from a free kick from Cornette (78th) gave hope to the Normans but Petkovic, already a scorer, secured victory at the end of the match (87th). With only three points behind Caen, provisional jump-off, Chambly dreams of maintaining.

Dark niort

Niort is in great difficulty and sees the threat of relegation approaching. Before this Saturday’s match against Rodez, the Chamois were five games without a win (two draws and three losses). Against Rodez, also in poor shape, Niort still missed the boat (1-1) and found himself 17th for two small points on Caen. The Niortais, who have never been relegated, could find themselves barragists and their current poor dynamic could cost them dearly by the end of the season.

And also…

Nancy-Valenciennes (1-3): In this no-stakes match, the players played liberated and offered spectacle and great goals to their supporters. It was finally Valenciennes who emerged victorious (3-1) thanks to a double from Boutoutaou (1st and 61st) and Malek Chergui (79th), back after a rupture of a cruciate ligament at the start of the season. Bassi is the scorer on the Lorraine side (31st).

Pau – Ajaccio (0-0): Few objectives and no goal in this mid-table meeting. With this draw, Pau can tremble since he only has two points ahead of the red zone two days from the end.
