The Europa League semi-finalists Arsenal and Manchester United struggled with relegation candidates in the Premier League on Sunday. Arsenal drew 1-1 at home against Fulham, United in the table made the 3-1 win over Burnley perfect in the closing minutes.
Thanks to a brace from 19-year-old Mason Greenwood (48th, 84th), United can continue to hope for a turnaround in the title fight with city rivals City. With six laps to go, the “Red Devils” are eight points behind the leading “Citizens”.
Arsenal, which had long since fallen out of the race for the European Cup places in the championship, won the points thanks to a goal by 21-year-old Eddie Nketiah at the last second in the derby against Fulham. For the “Gunners” the Europa League is the last chance to save another hapless season. Only the triumph would secure Arsenal the desired Champions League starting place for next season.
