“Trouble for PT Toyota Astra Motor as Toyota bZ4X Orders Temporarily Shut in Indonesia”

Jakarta

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) is having trouble serving high demand Toyota bZ4X in Indonesia. In fact, to keep the numbers from booming, they temporarily closed the tap for ordering the electric car.

Marketing Director of PT TAM, Anton Jimmi Suwandi, claims that to this day there are 1,000 units of the Toyota bZ4X that have not been delivered to the customer’s house. He admitted that he had contacted a number of networks to temporarily stop ordering products.

“We have asked the dealers not to open orders for the time being, because we are focusing on distribution. We can’t possibly make promises if those 1,000 or so have not been fulfilled,” Anton said when met at Central Jakarta, recently.

Anton explained, the high consumer demand is not comparable with the availability of stock in Indonesia. According to him, in a year, PT TAM only gets 300 bz4x units from Japan. Meanwhile, the queue has now exceeded a thousand units.

“So, if there are consumers who are interested in buying this car, we will put it on the pivot list first, we will register it first. Approximately later, when the production is clearer, we will provide further information on when the unit will arrive, on average it is now on the waiting list. ,” he explained.

The current bottleneck in vehicle production is not only influenced by the limitations of semiconductor chips, but also battery components. However, Anton promised, his party will try hard to meet the high demand of consumers in Indonesia.

“We’re trying, yes, this is a global need. Hopefully by the end of this year or early next year the supply will be okay, before the issue was semiconductors, now battery material is also lacking,” he said.

“Hopefully in the second half of this year or next year the supply of batteries will also recover. If it recovers, of course we can promise customers a quicker pivot time,” Anton added.

It is known that the Toyota bZ4X is the manufacturer’s first electric car to be sold in Indonesia. The vehicle was imported completely or completely built up (CBU) from Japan and was priced at IDR 1.19 billion with status on the road Jakarta.
