The man who was arrested on Thursday for two attempted murders at Trosterud in Oslo at the end of August, has been released on Friday night. It reports NTB.
– After careful assessments, the police believe that the further investigation weakened the suspicion, and then there is no basis for further arrest, writes police attorney Hilde Strand in an SMS to Dagbladet on Friday night.
– Specific information
A few hours earlier, the police had released a man who on Thursday morning was arrested and charged with having shot two people at Trosterud in Oslo in August. At that time, the police’s intense investigation had been going on for three weeks.
– The police receive information we must deal with. We received specific information which, according to the police’s assessment, provided a basis for arrest, Strand states.
She adds that even if the suspicion has been weakened, it is too early to conclude in the case and whether the charge will be dropped. At the same time, Strand asks people who have information in the case to contact the police.
Two shots: Large police chase
Interrogated Thursday
As Dagbladet reported on Thursday, the man was arrested in an apartment east of Oslo and charged with two attempted murders. On Friday, it was unclear whether the man would be produced for custody or not, but at around 7 pm, the defender, lawyer Marit Lomundal Sæther, stated that the client would be released.
– There have been no more interrogations today. He will be released, the lawyer told NTB, and refused to elaborate further on the background for the release.
Previous release
It was the night of August 25 that the two young men were shot in a residential area on Trosterud. The two were sent to hospital with serious injuries after the incident. Since then, there has been an extensive investigation and hunt for an unknown person who fired shots at the two.
The release on Friday is not the first in the case. A man in his 50s was arrested on August 31 and charged with attempted murder, but was released two days later because the suspicion against him had weakened.
