MEXICO CITY (apro) .- The Secretary of Public Education and Culture of the state of Sinaloa announced the suspension of classes this Monday in the municipalities of Culiacán and Navolato due to adverse weather conditions.
Through its social networks, the agency said that “on the recommendation of Civil Protection, given the rain forecasts for today, we must announce that face-to-face activities are suspended in the municipalities of Culiacán and Navolato for today ”.
And it is that the National Meteorological Service (SMN) anticipated that heavy rains (from 25 to 50 mm) are forecast in the entity due to the tropical storm “Nicholas”, located in the Gulf of Mexico, with a low pressure zone with cyclonic potential in the Pacific Ocean, south of the Michoacán coast.
The phenomena will also cause punctual torrential rains (from 150 to 250 millimeters [mm]) in Guerrero and Michoacán; intense (from 75 to 150 mm) in regions of Chiapas, Colima, Jalisco, Oaxaca and Tamaulipas, and very strong (from 50 to 75 mm) in areas of Nayarit and Veracruz.
