On June 17, the Trooping the Color parade takes place in Great Britain. This is the first parade since Queen Elizabeth died last autumn.
Trooping the Color is an annual military ceremony, which will honor the sitting monarch of the country. The parade has been a tradition for over 260 years.
Several passed out during the parade
In other words, this is the first time that King Charles (74) has been celebrated in this way. But there is no change of monarch without change.
On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that the king himself will be seen on horseback during the parade.
This has not happened since Queen Elizabeth did the same in 1986, according to People. The queen, who all her life had a great fondness for her horses, was then sitting on the back of her own horse Burmese.
When Charles takes part in the parade this weekend, he is therefore bringing back a tradition that has not been in place for 37 years.
Now there are not many days left before London’s streets are once again filled with people and parties, but until then the days consist of a good deal of hard work and practice in advance for the military who will take part in the performance.
Detail amazes: Stab against the brother?
It is Prince William (40) who is responsible for inspecting that everything is as it should be before the big day – and has had this responsibility for several years.
