The government is now allowing municipalities to introduce corona passports locally. Tromsø municipality will implement the scheme as soon as possible.

Green corona passport shows whether you have been vaccinated with one dose more than three weeks ago, have had corona detected in the last six months or have taken a negative test in the last 24 hours.
Tromsø mayor Gunnar Wilhelmsen (Labor Party) is among those who have wanted to introduce corona passports, and has asked that Tromsø be allowed to be a pilot municipality for a scheme with requirements for corona passports.
The seas: Here, the Norwegian Directorate of Health recommends that corona passports can be used
On Wednesday, a number of restrictions were introduced in the municipality after weeks of rapidly rising infection. Now there is a requirement for both a face mask and a home office, while restaurants, bars and pubs are only allowed to serve at the tables.
But now the municipality can use another tool to get rid of the spread of infection.
– We will introduce it no later than Tuesday in the coming week, the same day we have a chairmanship meeting.
Mayor Gunnar Wilhelmsen (Labor Party) told VG on Friday afternoon.
This is how the infection has developed in Tromsø:
With the corona passport, the municipality will be able to control who is allowed to participate in, among other things, various events.
– We want to use it at cultural events, concerts, conferences, during the Christmas table season and in the nightlife industry in general, says the mayor.
He is clear that they will first look at how the ministry recommends using the passport, before they determine how the passport is actually used.
Wilhelmsen refers to the experiences from Denmark, where he says that the passport has made more people get vaccinated so as not to miss things you must have a corona passport to access.
– This is good for even more people to get vaccinated, good for the entire tourism industry because we are in the northern lights season, and it means that we can have an even more open society.
Decide on Monday
Trondheim municipality also introduced strengthened measures in the municipality on Wednesday, after the sharp increase in infection. There are now bandages in the city, and the traffic light model has been introduced in primary school.
There are many indications that Trondheim will also use corona passes locally, but the municipality will spend the weekend assessing how this should be done.
This is confirmed by communications manager Harry Tiller in Trondheim municipality to NTB.
Monday morning, the crisis management gathers to make a decision.
– We register what has been said at today’s press conference, and it is something that has been in demand with us, Tiller says.
He says the municipality must find out how such a passport can best be used, and what consequences it can have.
In connection with the reopening, the previous government asked NIPH and the Norwegian Directorate of Health to study contingency plans for both measures and how corona passports could be used domestically «in the event of a significantly worsening infection situation».
The assignment was delivered on October 15, the day after a new government was in place, but then they agreed that it was not necessary to use the passport at that time.
