Mexico recorded the Monday another increase of new cases of coronavirus, and added to the statistics to triplets that were positive for the virus on the day they were born.
Monica Rangel, the secretary of Health of the state of San Luis Potosi, said that the triplets were born on the 8th of may, and that his mother also tested positive to the virus but did not develop symptoms.
Rangel said that he did not believe that the triplets are at risk. He noted that it was studying the case to see if the triplets acquired the infection before or after birth, but commented that it was unlikely that contagiaran outside the uterus of one so quickly.
This is not the first time that newborns are positive for the virus, but it is rare.
Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Mexico rose up in a 4.577 for a total of 185.122, while deaths increased by 759 for a total 22.584.
It is assumed that both figures are below the actual due to the low levels of testing in Mexico. The authorities said that the levels of infection appear to have stabilized, and kept up the hope, as they have done several times, that the numbers begin to decrease soon.
