Director Ivan Reitman (74), Arnold Schwarzenegger (74) and Danny DeVito (76) actually shoot a sequel to the hit comedy “Twins” (1988). This is what the US industry portal “Deadline” reports. Tracy Morgan (52) is said to play a third brother in the film. The shooting of “Triplets” (“triplets”) will take place according to the report in January in Boston.
The brothers Julian (Schwarzenegger) and Vincent (DeVito) discover in the new film that they are part of a trio. Comedy fans, however, have to do without Eddie Murphy (60). He was supposed to be part of the long-planned project, but then had to cancel.
Terminprobleme bei Eddie Murphy
Reitman commented on “Deadline” on “Triplets”: “‘Twins’ was quite successful, and a few years later it all started with Arnold meeting Eddie Murphy, and the suggestion came from one of them.” They thought it could be a “very funny comedy” with triplets. A script with Murphy was already in the works. After the success with “The Prince from Zamunda 2”, however, the comedian is fully booked, according to the director. “And we knew we’d be shooting early next year. I’ve been friends with Tracy Morgan for a long time and I think he’s one of the funniest men in the world.” The whole script was then rewritten for him.
