14 years ago, Danny Green began his career in Cleveland, alongside LeBron James. It was at the end of the bench, and essentially in the G-League. Fourteen years later, Green has chosen to come full circle as he signed a two million dollar contract to end the season with the Cavaliers.
On the shelves of the Lakers, Celtics and Suns, Green has opted for Cleveland where he will have a real role to play as a “shooter-defender”, “3-and-D” in English, off the bench. NBA champion in 2014 with the Spurs, in 2019 with the Raptors and finally in 2020 with the Lakers, Green could allow the Cavaliers to find the playoffs after several years of scarcity.
The 35-year-old Green is just recovering from a double ligament rupture in a knee, suffered in May 2022. He arrives from Memphis where he has only played three games, and will probably need a few more weeks before regaining his level of play.
