Třinec – Pardubice 2: 3, Dynamo dominated the second period, the goal of the champion was not enough

The fascinating fight between the home champions and the competition leader and main gold favorite got off to a bit of a sleepy start. The Steelers then got into the pace faster and ultimately won the first half on shots on goal with an underwhelming ratio of 14: 4.

However, they reflected this scoring superiority with only one goal scored. Midway through the third period, Buček shoots dangerously, his shot deflected by Frodl, but the Slovakian striker then shoots the puck again into the corner of the track. His next shot was stopped by Frodl with his shoulder, Buček did not reach the stop, but the puck “floated” in front of Dravecký, who opened the scoring with an open stop.

However, in the second 20-minute period, both teams completely swapped roles and the East Bohemians dominated the ice. After just 110 seconds, the puck bounced off the back fence and found Říček and equalized. Before half the regular playing time, Dan’s unsportsmanlike behavior cost the home team dearly. Ciencala reduced his minor penalty to just 32 seconds with a blow from the rim without preparation.

In the 33rd minute, Radil threw a puck at the goal, which Kacetl stopped, but didn’t have time to hide under the catcher. Commuter Ciencala scraped it off with his blade and skillfully increased it to 3: 1 for guests. In the 37th minute, Daňo was again guilty in the same way. Košťálek immediately deprived the visitors of a power play, but after a while Čukst was also guilty of a technical foul by Kacetl.

From the start of the home team in the third act, it was immediately clear that they wanted to do something more with the unfavorable situation and refused to accept defeat. An extra dose of energy was given by the experienced defender Jeřábek, who after a short drive from the round fired into the crowd in front of Frodl and reduced Adam Musil thanks to the run.

Just a moment later, Hudáček himself rushed over to him and tried to bluff his backhand, but failed. Before the middle of the third period, even Marinčin’s shot does not find the desired target. On the other hand, he directed Matýs’ offer to Říček, but Kacetl was careful. In the possibility of comparing the situation, Frodlo Voženílek has not matured.

A major complication for the visitors was Radil’s somewhat unfortunate foul with a high stick on Douder in the 58th minute, after which the striker collected a penalty for 2 + 2 minutes. In the end, the Steelers claimed their numerical advantage by playing without a goalkeeper, but Pardubice held out unscathed.
