Trillions of Rupiah State Budget Spent for the Mandalika MotoGP, here are the details

KOMPAS.com – Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, openings related to the state budget that has been spent to make the implementation a success MotoGP at Pertamina Circuit Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“Uangkita (APBN) has also contributed in supporting this grand event, among others through PMN and support to related Ministries/Agencies, VAT incentives and incentives for import duties and import taxes. All of this support is given for the smooth running of this long-awaited event,” said Sri Mulyani as quoted from her official Instagram account, Saturday (19/3/2022).

In detail, in addition to the PMN allocation to SOEs, the APBN is also used in Mandalika through ministerial and institutional budgets of Rp 1.18 trillion. Then the VAT Incentive for Taxable Services is Rp. 240.73 billion, and the Import Duty and Import Tax Incentive is Rp. 10.41 billion.

The former World Bank Managing Director said that MotoGP could be the pride of Indonesia. Moreover, in the country itself, there are quite a lot of motorcycle racing lovers.

“This weekend, the Mandalika Lombok circuit is holding the second MotoGP 2022 series. MotoGP fans are definitely looking forward to this moment. Who is your flagship rider? 25 years of waiting, Indonesia is again hosting the MotoGP series. Proud!” said Sri Mulyani.

He also said that the implementation of MotoGP also contributed to being the locomotive of the economy in Lombok and its surroundings. Tourist visits are also expected to increase.

“Thanks to the holding of this event, the economic activities of the surrounding population have also developed. Even the racers joined in to enliven the event by wearing unique Indonesian attributes, such as caping hats. They also shared fun moments with Lombok MSME actors during the preparation of the event,” said Sri Mulyani .

Economic impact

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy targets multiplier effect from the 2022 MotoGP event of IDR 500 billion by creating as many as 35,000 to 50,000 new jobs.

Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, BNPB, Basarnas, Police, Ministry of Transportation, Regional Government, and PHRI built a Tourism Help Desk in order to event MotoGP Mandalika 2022 race which functions as a forum for consultation and information for prospective travelers, complaints, and facilitation of suggestions and input from travellers.

To support the promotion and amplification of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf also held side event. Among them is the Bango Snack Festival which involves 50 Indonesian food vendors located on the Kuta Mandalika beach.

“Aside from that Food Truck Goes to Mandalika in collaboration with Gojek Indonesia presents 15 units food truck in Mandalika. Also axillary action, synergistic action, appearance of two short films of axillary products which will be screened at Beach Park Kuta Mandalika on March 18, 2022,” said Dessy.
