VERONA – The doubts after the boarding checks, the discovery of the false document and then the arrest. This is what happened in Verona on Thursday evening: around 7.30pm a 57-year-old attempted to board a volo headed to London, however, showing a Korean passport which later turned out to be counterfeit. The man, after the necessary investigations, was arrested by the state police.

The controls
The checks on the documents shown by the man were carried out by Air Border Police officers and made it possible to establish that the microchip on his biometric passport was not authentic. Accompanied at the police offices, the man confessed that he was actually a Chinese citizen and that he had attempted to cross the border with a false document and personal details in order to reach Great Britain.
At the end of the investigations, the man was arrested for possession and manufacturing of false identification documents. Yesterday morning, Friday 25 October, the Judge validated the arrest.
