On his Twitter page, the Stade Malherbe Caen (Calvados) announced this Sunday, January 10, 2021, the death of one of its most loyal supporters.
Salah Boutamine did not miss any SMC training every day. He was also present at all of the club’s matches at home and away.
On social networks, the announcement of his death provoked many reactions. The players of Caen, or former players, were numerous to express themselves. Like the former coach Patrice Garande.
Pierre-Antoine Capton, chairman of the supervisory board of SM Caen, evokes for his part “terrible news for the whole family of Stade Malherbe”. He indicates that a tribute will be paid to him against Toulouse “then when the supporters return to the stadium”. Supporters who, too, express their immense sadness.
The Malherbe Normandy Kop also paid a nice tribute to one of its own. “Salah will have fought for a long time against the disease which never took him far away from the stadiums, he who traveled the roads of France every weekend to support the SMC. By bus, day 9, car, train, ferry, you were always the first to leave to support Malherbe and represent MNK96, with your red and blue heart. We would like to pay tribute to you today through these few words. “
Salah, you who were always there for us, locally, in preparation, at the stadium, weekdays, weekends, always there to watch over us with your generosity that defines you so much. Rants at times of laughter and all these memories in the head. Know that in our hearts and memories, you are immortal.
On Twitter, many shared their emotion.
The former Weeder Frédéric Guilbert also paid tribute to Salah: “Oh nooo. Stade Malherbe loses one of its most loyal supporters, if not the most loyal. A man with a big heart and who has always supported his team. Rest in peace my friend. ”
